Dr. Patrick Yeung Jr. has a passion for the laparoscopic excision of endometriosis and for training residents in minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Yeung received his medical degree at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Yeung completed a one-year fellowship in Advanced Gynecologic Endoscopy co-sponsored by the AAGL (American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the SRS (Society of Reproductive Surgeons) at the University of Louisville. He is completing further advanced training in the laparoscopic excision of endometriosis at the Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Yeung was given the Teaching Award during two of his years in residency at Georgetown University, an award voted on only by the medical students themselves. He was awarded the 1st prize Kurt Semm Advances in Pelviscopy Award at the AAGL conference in 2007, and is the winner of the Jay Cooper Endowed Award for Best Fellowship Paper for the coming AAGL conference 2008. This paper on the Use of Video in Laparoscopic Training: A Randomized Controlled Trial will be presented at both the AAGL and the ASRM (American Society of Reproductive Medicine) conferences this year. Dr. Yeung has recently written The Laparoscopic Management of Endometriosis: A Systematic Review which summarizes all the best evidence available. He has been invited to speak on his research at the upcoming 2nd AAGL International Congress on Minimally Invasive Gynecology in conjunction with V SOBENGE Brazilian Congress "Endometriosis: Individualized Therapies and Strategies for Prevention" conference this month. Dr. Yeung is a peer reviewer for Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, and a member of the AAGL Scientific Review Committee. He has published numerous abstracts, manuscripts and a book chapter, and produced several teaching videos. In my profile, please update the last paragraph to read: Dr. Yeung is now on faculty at Duke University, in the Department of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, since October 2008.  He is Director of the Duke Center for Endometriosis Research & Treatment, and is dedicated to the early diagnosis and surgical treatment of endometriosis through research, education, and clinical expertise.
